The city of Aurora operates under a council/manager form of government, combining the political leadership of elected officials with the managerial expertise of a professionally trained, local government manager appointed to the position.

The Schools serving Aurora CO are a diverse mix of public systems, charter schools, and private/parochial schools.
Denver was established in 1858 after a party of prospectors made a gold discovery at the confluence of Cherry Creek & the South Platte River, now known as confluence park in Denver.
The town founders thought it a good idea to name this dusty crossroads after the then Governor of the Kansas territory, James W Denver. Denver grew in importance as the main supply camp for the Colorado gold camps, which were not serviced by rail until 1870.
Other gold discoveries sparked a mass migration of some 100,000 in 1859-60, leading the federal government to establish Colorado Territory in 1861.
Castle Rock still has a small town feel but is finding itself to be in a huge growth spurt.
The quaint main street (Wilcox) and Perry Street have become the shopping area and Castle Rock homes are close by while horse properties tend to dominate the surrounding countryside.
The town was Incorporated in 1881 Castle Rock was a railroad town, a "helper station" for both the Denver & Rio Grande and the Santa Fe Railroads.

It is the area's newest city formed in 2001 bordering Littleton, Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills Village and Lone Tree, Colorado.
While mainly residential in nature there are quite a few commercial properties in the Centennial Airport area.
Single family homes tend to range in the low range of $180,000 up to the multi-million dollar homes.
Gated communities, golf course homes, and luxury homes are dotted through out the city while residential real estate listings tend to be in the middle ranges predominately in the $250,000 to $500,000.
